Woman Hospitalized with Major Injuries After Ojai DUI Car Crash at La Luna Avenue and El Roblar Drive
Ojai, California (May 21, 2020) – 34-year-old Nathan Whitteker has been arrested following a DUI car crash that left a female party with serious injuries Wednesday evening in Ojai, Ventura County.
The major injury accident involving two vehicles was reported at about 6:19 p.m. May 20, at the intersection of La Luna Avenue and El Roblar Drive.
The initial report indicated that Whitteker was driving his vehicle on the roadway when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a second unspecified automobile.
Ventura County Fire Department officials arrived at the crash site and extricated the woman who was trapped inside her car upon the impact.
The woman sustained major injuries and was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center for further treatment.
Meanwhile, Whitteker left the scene after the collision, but he later returned on foot. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run causing injury.
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
