Fatal Buttonwillow Accident on Lerdo Highway near Main Drain Road Wednesday Morning

Buttonwillow 2-Vehicle Collision on Lerdo Highway Kills 26-Year-Old Lost Hills Man
Buttonwillow, California (January 20, 2021) – A traffic collision involving a Honda sedan and a Kia SUV in Buttonwillow, Wednesday morning, left a 26-year-old Lost Hills man dead, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The two vehicles crashed on Lerdo Highway, about a mile west of Main Drain Road, at approximately 6:16 a.m.
The accident happened when the Honda sedan driven by the Lost Hills westbound on Lerdo Highway entered the eastbound lane for reasons still under investigation.
The Honda then collided head-on with the Kia SUV operated by a 44-year-old driver eastbound on the roadway.
The 26-year-old man died in the accident while the Kia motorist was hospitalized at Kern Medical with moderate injuries.
The investigators are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
