Sunnyvale 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 85 near Interstate 280 Kills 45-Year-Old Woman

Sunnyvale, California (September 18, 2020) – According to a California Highway Patrol dispatch, a Wednesday morning traffic accident in Sunnyvale left a 45-year-old woman dead.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., September 16, the CHP responded to the deadly accident on the northbound Highway 85 near southbound Interstate 280.

The mishap happened when a 2003 Lexus driven by the female party lost control and drifted off the highway into a dirt gore point. The female party then crashed with a 2015 Lexus operated by a 37-year-old man on the connector from southbound Highway 85 to southbound Interstate 280.

Both automobiles reportedly slammed into a guardrail upon the impact.

Sadly, the unidentified 2003 Lexus operator was declared dead at the crash site.

Meanwhile, the other motorist, an East Palo Alto resident, survived with minor injuries.

More details regarding the accident will be released immediately after the completion of the investigation.
