2 Killed in Head-On Collision on Route 29 in Hopewell

Hopewell, New Jersey (March 27, 2018) – Two people were killed Monday afternoon in a head-on Crash in Hopewell, according to authorities.

The fatal crash took place on Route 29 on Monday, March 26.

According to authorities, 59-year-old James Bilton from Edgewater Park was operating a Mack dump truck northbound on Route 29 while Crown Victoria was driving a Ford southbound. The vehicles collided in the southbound lane.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles hit a utility pole and caught fire.

Victoria and the passenger in the car were declared deceased at the scene. Their names were not released pending notification of next of kin.

Bilton was not injured.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
