Ney Cuyama , California (September 13, 2016) – One person was killed Tuesday morning in fatal traffic collision involving three semi-trucks in New Cuyama, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The fatal accident was reported this morning at about 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound Cuyama Highway/Highway 166.
According to the CHP report, the three semi-trucks sustained major damages in the accident. One of the vehicles went off the side of the road into a field, the second ended up near the right-hand shoulder to the side of the road while the third one remained on the roadway.
Heavy duty towing vehicles were required to remove the vehicles as they could not be driven after the accident.
The report indicates that at least one motorist was killed and another sustained unspecified injuries in the crash.
The identities of the motorists involved in the accident were not immediately released pending family notification.
The crash is under investigation by the police to determine the cause and liability.
